Dear Jim,
I've inherited a diamond from my Grandmother. While it's beautiful, I think my girlfriend would hate the style. I would love to give her the special diamond, how can I put it in something she will love?

Thanks,
Ben

Dear Ben,
At Kennedy's we understand wanting to make an engagement your own while incorporating the meaning given in an heirloom piece. We have several different options to highlight your treasured diamond and make a beautiful ring your girlfriend will love. Also you can take the old ring the diamond was set in and trade it in towards the new ring or make a pendant for her as a wedding day gift. We have thousands of options for your mounting between what is in our showroom and pieces we can special order. We can also create a ring from scratch just for your diamond!

Can't wait to help you,
Jim

Dear Jim,
I've been looking at your website and notice you have an estate collection. I've heard estate diamonds are a better buy, but I'm concerned about getting a used diamond. Am I right to worry?

Thanks,
Jill

Dear Jill,
The wonderful fact about diamonds is that they are already a million years old before they are even mined, and they will last a million years more. Their beauty and luster will never fade. This is why buying an estate diamond is a great way to go. You can get a better price, but have the same value and beauty as a "new" diamond of the same quality.

Dear Jim,
I am going to be having dinner with my girlfriend and her family this weekend, and I want to ask her father for his permission to marry his daughter. What should I say, I am really nervous and her dad is over 6 foot tall.

Thanks,
John

Dear John,
It is very understandable to be nervous. First off, don't stress out and keep it simple. Pull her father aside and let him know how much you love his daughter. It probably wouldn't hurt to mention your respect for him as well. Tell him how you can't wait to spend the rest of your life caring for his daughter and ask for his permission. As long as he can see your sincerity, you won't have any problems.

Good luck,
Jim
